An Ode to That Pile of Laundry | Enjoying the Run

An Ode to That Pile of Laundry

I’d like to dedicate this post to my in-laws. I apologize that you always seem to visit on laundry day…week… Ok, I have a confession to make: I have had the same 3 loads of laundry sitting on my couch for a week now. It’s bad, but there are just so many better things to spend time doing than laundry! If I had an extra income, it would definitely be going to a maid. Funny thing is, it’s not even that I don’t like doing laundry. I find it almost therapeutic. The stacks of neatly folded clothes appeal to the same part of my brain that loves file folders and color-coding. The only problem is that it seems to take...

29 Things to Do at 29 | Enjoying the Run (1)

29 Things to Do at 29

I turned 29 this month! It makes me feel so old and so young at the same time. Maybe it’s actually the lack of sleep that makes me feel old. I don’t know. My brain feels like scrambled mush from all the not-sleeping that I’ve been doing since Baby L’s arrival 8 weeks ago. I’ve been so focused on the kids this last 2 months that my birthday has me thinking a little bit about myself…it’s my last year in my 20’s. What do I want to accomplish? So much of my life up to this point has been defined by major milestones (graduations from high school, college, and grad school, our wedding, the birth of our 2 kids, etc). This year...

Life. On Repeat. | Enjoying the Run

Life is on Repeat Right Now

Deja vu every day. My life is on repeat right now. I’ve been on maternity leave for almost 3 weeks now which means I get to be home with both Littles all day long. It’s been fun, but also exhausting and I find myself saying and thinking the same things all day every day. For my own record (and so I can look back and laugh at this later) I’m just going to start a list of things I hear myself repeating (either out loud or in my head) every. single. day. Things I say: Please don’t pick your nose. Seriously! Stop picking your nose! Don’t eat that. That’s gross. No, you can’t put a chair on top of the trampoline...

Friday Favorites.January 2016 - Enjoying the Run

Friday Favorites #5

Hi there! I hope everyone’s week was awesome. I enjoyed the holidays, but I’m also glad to get back to some normalcy and a regular schedule around here. Some Friday favorites from this week: 1. Mom’s baking I didn’t have a chance to take a picture of the 20 different kinds of cookies she baked, but…well…there were 20 different kinds of homemade cookies at mom’s house over the holidays. Plus pies, cakes, and all sorts of other goodies. It was a pregnant lady’s heaven. 2. “Girl time” with my Little Lady Hubby had to work tonight so the Little and I got to spend some quality time together at home. We (she) jumped on the mini trampoline, made dinner together,...

Redsfest 2015 Recap

Weekend Getaway: Redsfest Recap

Any baseball fans out there? I never cared about baseball until I met my husband. I still don’t really care about baseball, but I’m now at least tolerant of the fact that, for about 8 months out of the year, there’s nothing else playing on our TV if there’s a game on. 🙂 My husband is a HUGE Cincinnati Reds fan so for Christmas this year I told him that the Little and I would attend Redsfest with him. What’s Redsfest? If you want the official description, check out their website. My description? A two-day event where Reds fans from all over the place come together to buy memorabilia and stand in line for hours at a time to have...

Friday Favorites.December 2015 - Enjoying the Run

Friday Favorites #3

Yay! It’s Friday! This week was so short in some ways and so. long. in other ways. It seems like the month of December is always like that. We stay so busy that there’s hardly any time to do the stuff at home we normally do. Thankfully, I still have a freezer full of meals so even though I haven’t had time to cook we’ve still be eating at home most nights. On to some Friday Favorites from this week: -New nail polish! I stopped in Sephora to grab some stocking stuffers for my sister and cousins and ended up finding my perfect holiday nail color. It’s Formula X in Ignite and it’s a great shade of red for my...
