Friday Favorites #18

Hey there! Happy Friday! How was your week? We’re still dealing with a teething baby here in our household so we aren’t getting a whole lot of sleep, but we’re managing. I don’t remember it being this bad with Little E. She was fussy for a few days and then she had teeth and that was that. Baby L has never slept for longer than a 4-hour stretch. He’s 6 months old. Now, he at least goes back to sleep better than he used to so my nights are a little more restful, but I’m dreaming of a day when he lets me sleep for an entire 8+ hour night!! I’m nearing the end of week 4 of half marathon training!...

Friday Favorites #17

Is anyone else staying up wwwaaaayyyy too late every night to watch the Olympics?! Every night I swear I’m going to bed once the kids are asleep and every night I’m looking at the clock at 11pm and saying to myself, “oh well, I’ll try to get to bed early tomorrow.” I don’t even know anything about most of these sports, but when they start showing the Olympics all of a sudden I’m a huge fencing, water polo, etc fan! At least this weekend the running events start so that’s something I at least know a little about. 🙂 In case you’re following along, I’m wrapping up Week 3 of Half Marathon training and so far, so good. (Recaps for...

Friday Favorites #16

Happy Friday! I’m so glad it’s finally the weekend. J has been working a bunch of over time the last two weeks which has left me alone with the littles a lot. I love them, but sometimes they drive their mama a little crazy! We need J here to balance us all out so it’s tough when he’s gone. So to celebrate the fact that it’s Friday, I’m linking up with Heather to share some favorites from the week! Terra Sweet Potato chips – If you’ve not had these you’re seriously missing out. They’re delicious and so much better for you than regular potato chips. Gilmore Girls on Netflix – The new seasons start in November so I’m reminiscing and watching...

Taking 2 Babies to the Store + Friday Favorites #15

I’m sorry there aren’t pictures. I ran out of energy. Read on. You’ll forgive me. Oh the irony. Seriously. As soon as you think you’ve got a handle on things…well…you know… So, this evening I decided it would be a good chance to take both babies to the grocery store by myself. Did I do this because my husband wasn’t home? Nope. Did I do it because my mom or sister wouldn’t have jumped at the chance to hang out with at least one of the littles? Nope. Did I do it because the littles tricked me into thinking they would behave like little angels for 2 hours? Yes, that must have been it. Two sets of big blue eyes stared...

A New Look + Friday Favorites #14

Good morning! Sorry I’ve been a little m.i.a. this week, but I went back to work full time and every moment I spent on the blog was used to pick out a new look! New colors, new logo, new inspiration 🙂 I’m still working on how to change a few things, but for the most part I’m happy with how everything is coming together! Any thoughts on the new header?? Anything exciting planned for the weekend? I’m SUPER excited for Little E’s first soccer game tomorrow!! Yesterday, for the first time ever, I wished I had a selfie stick. No joke. Our friends came over with their daughter and we all (me, my friend, both hubbies, and 3 babies) went...

Running Selfies + Friday Favorites #13

Ok. Real question here…how do so many people on Instagram take such great pictures of themselves while they’re running?! The best method I’ve come up with is to just take a video and then screenshot the “best” frame. I say “best” because I have yet to actually get a good picture. The best one I have literally has a blade of grass in it. Also, let’s be real, I’m only 9 weeks post-partum and I don’t have one of those bodies that just magically pops out a kid and pops back into the shape it used to be. So, I’m also looking for a more flattering angle than I-had-no-one-to-take-my-picture-so-I-propped-my-phone-up-in-a-pile-of-dirt. Please tell me someone has a better way to do this!! Hoping...

Back to Work + Friday Favorites #12

Hey there! How was your week? Mine flew. I started back to work on Wednesday and I have sooo much to catch up on! Totally worth it (obviously), but after it took me 2+ hours to sort through over 500 emails I started wondering if I should have been checking it all along instead of shutting it off for the entire maternity leave. Oh well. I got through it and thankfully my boss has young kids of her own so she is patient with the fact that my brain isn’t back up to full working speed yet. 🙂 Besides starting back to work, we had a lot of other adventures this past week including… Some birthday revelations for me. I...

My Return to Running + Friday Favorites #11

What a week! I officially started my return to running this week. 🙂 Technically, I ran my first steps last weekend at a small 5K, but I actually took up a training plan and started working on it consistently this week. It’s been an interesting process already… Let’s be real. Running is hard anyway. We don’t do it because it’s easy, we do it because it’s challenging, freeing, beneficial, healthy…and any number of other reasons. Occasionally a specific run will feel easy, but running as a whole isn’t ever really “easy.” Well, returning to running post-baby is DEFINITELY not easy. I remember struggling last time, but I don’t remember very clearly so maybe that means this part didn’t last very long....

Spring is finally here! + Friday Favorites #10

Spring has finally decided to make an appearance here in the Midwest! My family has been sick all week, but it hasn’t stopped us from getting outside to enjoy the mild temperatures we’ve had. I wanted to make sure we got out to walk every day because the sunshine and fresh air really do make these colds go away faster. I also wanted to make sure I didn’t fall behind on my own walking because Monday I get to start running!!! Woohoo!!! I’m sure it will be just awful at first and my whole body is going to be so sore, but it’s going to be so worth it! I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to say about that in...

New Workout Clothes + Friday Favorites #9

Hey there! How has your week been? The first half of my week flew by since we were out of town. Unfortunately, the second half of the week has not been nearly as fun. Hubby has been sick since Wednesday and it’s making life a little rough around here since he can’t really be around the kids in the state he’s in. Hopefully things will get better this weekend. On the bright side…I got some new workout clothes! My birthday is this month and when we were in Beverly Shores I was able to visit the Nike store and pick out some new clothes and shoes. The capris are a little snug since I still have some pregnancy weight to lose, but...
